Our Story

The data problem
no one was solving

When Kathleen Colatrella, RPh, MS founded LINEA System in 2008, she brought a perspective few in the industry had: she had actually run clinical trials at one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies.

What she saw was a consistent pattern: site selection decisions were made on the basis of relationships, habit, and assumptions rather than objective performance data. Sites were chosen because they had always been used, or because a CRA knew someone there. The result was predictable: slow startups, screen failures, enrollment shortfalls.

LINEA System was built to change that. The Research Site Index and AcceleTrial platform exist to give sponsors and CROs the same rigor in site selection that they apply to every other scientific decision in drug development.

Kathleen Colatrella is the Founder and President of LINEA System. She founded the company in 2008 and relaunched LINEA in 2018 as an AI-powered site selection and engagement platform focused on faster site activation and more reliable patient contribution with less site burden. Her background includes senior clinical research and medical affairs roles at Roche, Genta, and MannKind.

Under her leadership, LINEA has built RSI into a 250,000+-record investigator intelligence platform and AcceleTrial into a workflow and execution system for managing trial-site activation, documentation, compliance steps, and operational follow-through.
